We used Paramount, double pane, low-E, wood frame, double hung windows. These are closest to the original windows hung in the front of the house. None of the original windows in the back of the house survived the many additions and changes. We salvaged the old wavy glass and will use it in our upper cabinets, but none of the original window frames were left in the house. Various past owners had cut the double hung originals in half and made small windows with plywood blocking the original holes.
We found the large windows allow the breeze from the west to cool the house in a way we never experienced until now.

Windows arrive, each with wood trim and sills. |

Exterior sideing is in place, waiting for the window installation. |

Bay window will have a large solid picture window in the middle frame. |

Kitchen window has center picture with double hung side windows. We decide to use smaller exterior molding to allow some of the siding to show. The original size molding would obscure the siding. (Two samples are between the right side windows. |

Dining windows are hung.
Sunset reflected in the west facing windows. These were a great choice and perfect positioning. |
