Trump
We are in the first month of Donald Trump's presidency. These are turbulent times and we just hope the Country is strong and the future is bright.

Looking east
The walls go up on Valentine's Day!
Rising from piles of wood literally dropped in the street, the walls are framed on site and we can now imagine the rooms and see how it all fits. It surprised me when one of the assistant builders asked me to describe the rooms. I guess I assumed everyone knew the plans. In fact, only the contractors have memorized the plans, everyone else is just taking orders that sound like a different language, "make a California" and "now we need a 45-degree long to short 36-inches".
The walls fit together like lego pieces, made stronger because they create finger joints in the corners. (not sure that is the real name) We are watching them create a piece of art from the inside out.

Thunder, lightening and rainbows
Another four days of rain have kept the plastic on and the workers away. We are having the rainiest winter in recent history. We keep our calm with happy hour on the porch and fabulous views of rainbows and snow-covered mountains. My ritual of taking daily progress photos is on hiatus, but a few shots of the plastic-covered floor seemed warranted.
Our rental closed Escrow yesterday, one less house to worry about.

Rain, Rain, Go Away!
We have had many days without progress due to rain. The sub floor is painted and lines have been snapped, but plastic sheets protect it from the rain and there is little hope of getting going again this week.
